Raya and the Last dragon is a Disney movie with all Asian characters. Raya is a female Asian ninja who is on a mission to save her hometown.
The movie begun on a road trip , so it seems, but it looks more like she is rushing towards a place or something and the reason of all the rush and adventure begun 500 years ago when their land was prosperous and everyone's lives is harmonious.
500 years ago humans and dragons live harmoniously until a plague rush in. In the fantasy world of Kumandra, an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Dragons fought very hard and was defeated until the last dragon use all her magic to defeat the plagues/ creatures and turn everyone back to themselves again except the dragons.
Some part in the beginning of the movie showed the childhood of Raya and the other clans, they are having trust issues. Five hundred years has passed since the evil invaded the earth and it returned to consume each living persons soul.
The invasion started with one creature/ evil creature and multiply every time it passed by a person draining the person's life force and turning everyone into stone.
When Raya is at her childhood years she is very cunning and adventurous. See the wonders of a cave full of traps and stairs with water flowing upward from the bottom. As the heroic Raya unfolds the mystery of the cave, get ready for a sword vs arnis duel.
When the village was attacked by creatures who steal life, the only way to save Raya is to throw her into the river. So after 6 years from that attack, the bountiful land turns into a dessert. She was all grown up and so is her pet, and it's up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.
