The movie begins when Ruth Slater is being release in prison for good behavior, after 20 years away from her sister she was given parole. Rob Morgan is the parole officer assigned to monitor her behaviour in the society making sure she will not harm anyone and made her understand that there are set of rules to follow and if she breaks one of them then she will be sent back in prison.
It has been so long since she did not see her younger sister; she raise her until her ister turned five and got arrested for talking the life of the good Sheriff in their town when it forces his entry into the house. Ruth's little sister did not know what she had committed and they ate at a diner and she surrender to the police.
It's been so long that ruth's sister cnnot even remember Ruth's face, she turned into an excellent piano artist and was adopted by the Malcolm's. They were good parents.
The story go around by Ruth's finding a decent job and the sons of the sheriff are still bitter and wants revenge. One of the son of the deceased sheriff kidnapped Emily whom they mistaken that it is Ruth's younger sister. Ruth came to the rescue and proved to everyone that she is not a bad person and deserved a second chance with her younger sister.
Thanks to the family that bought their home/ house because John Ingram is a lawyer and a pro family man.
This is a truely happening to our society nowadays, once you are convicted and got jailed, you will be marked as an ex-con for life until you did something heroic. I highly recommend this movie.
